Iowa was formed in Portland,Oregon during the fall of 2017 by Hannah Mickunas (voice, slide guitar) and Tom Greenwood (guitar, voice). Both have a long history of exploring improvisation,experimental sound, and songwriting. These elements presented a unique starting point for the duo, who have evolved a distinct and ethereal post-folk sound.
